Butterfly Island Children's Book Reading
Saturday, 1:30 pm, Library - ages 4-8
Come for the first public reading of Butterfly Island, a new picture book inspired by Ellen, a plucky Fire Islander, daughter, and first-mate of Captain Bob. When Captain Bob can no longer pilot his boat, he sets a new course - to save the Island's dwindling monarchs. Now Ellen and the island’s children must help Captain Bob to carry on, even when facing one of the biggest storms any one has ever seen.
Reading by Tracy Dockray, creator of Butterfly Island and illustrator of over 30 books for children.
Ellen Federico will talk about her Monarch Butterfly Mission after the reading. Children can create their own colorful butterflies.
